Home

I am home with Mom. Connor & I came home on Saturday, Aug. 18. DH will join us later. I am so grateful for Mom's Oncologist for her compassion and professionalism, the American Red Cross for sending an emergency message and for the US Coast Guard for flying us home.

I am not sure what I was expecting, but this surely isn't it.

She isn't the same Mom that I left in April. And I am so afraid that our time is running out very quickly.

Her illness has really made me reconsider my perspective on life. The "things" in life that used to matter to me, really don't anymore. I was a really shallow beyotch back in the day. It is funny how much I have changed in the last few years. Take our car for instance...we have a Honda that is 7 years old with no hubcaps. Good Lord, 5 years ago, I would have had a fit if the chrome rims on my (special order) PT Cruiser were dirty from brake dust.

Life is short.

I was hoping to participate in the "think pink" exchange for a Yahoo Group that I am in, but my stitching time is nil and the days keep slipping by me, so in October I will be giving away the little extra stuff that I had planned on sending in my exchange.

Being a semi-only child ( I have step-siblings) really bites my kiester right now.

Peace

So sorry to hear about your mum, but glad you managed to get home. The American Red Cross and the US Coat Guards were brilliant to help you like that.

My heart goes out to you Missy. I understand exactly what you're going through, as I saw my Mom go through it with my grandma and then her sister. Stay strong, and I'll be praying HARD for you and your Mom to find peace.

I'm sorry Missy. I don't want to be inappropriate right now, but I read The Year of Magical Thinking and it really helped me with some of my grief and it's stages.
