Where have I been? Oh yeah, I have been sucked into the baby vortex for the past 5 weeks. Poor neglected blog. Poor neglected house. That's okay, he is only this age once and he is such a doll. Here's Connor saying hi to everyone:

He is too cute. He is starting to show a little bit of personality. I can't wait until he is a little older and interacts more. Otherwise, things are going great! Breastfeeding sucks (no pun intended) and we had to stop for a week, but he has taken to it again without any problems. I don't really have a time line as to when to stop breastfeeding (probably when he gets teeth...the thought of it scares me), right now we just take it one week at a time. I tell myself, "Just get through this week, it is the best for him", and somehow we manage. The week that I had to give him formula, I cried for the first 24 hours that I had to give him a bottle.
The cats did say that they want to vote him off of the Island already.

I haven't done very much in the crafting department lately. Why? Well, because my time is consumed with nursing, burping, and falling asleep on the couch by 7:45 pm. Sooo exciting! Here is the most recent picture of my biscornu. I don't know if I had previously shown it or not. Carolyn & I are working on it. I did start the back, but I think that my backstitching count is off. Anyway, it is sitting on the end table all dejected like.
I did manage to finish crocheting a scarf for the Afghanistan baby project (in sidebar) that I had started before Connor was born. All I had to do was finish 3 or 4 rows and add the fringe. It is done in front & back post double crochet and regular double crochet. Just something that I came up with. It is Bernat Cotton Tots yarn and is beeeyoootifully soft.

Glad to hear things are going well! You've survived the first month, which is the worst as far as getting used to things.
He sure is cute. I *love* that diaper cover...it looks so soft! Did you make that or order it somewhere?
BF'ing isn't easy like so many sources claim. I tried so hard with The Baby and it just didn't work out. She and I were both in tears every time I tried to feed her...no one was happy. I felt like a failure switching to formula (still do, even 3 months later). But she's happy and healthy now, so I keep telling myself that's what's most important in the long run. :-)
Oohhhh Conner is getting so big! I just want to pick him up and give him the biggest hug!

Don't worry about not blogging all that often. Enjoy this time with Conner we are all here for you. *hugs*
Conner is adorable! It sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying him too. But don't forget to look after Conner's mommy. And try not to be too hard on yourself if everything doesn't seem to go perfectly. It all works itself out in the long run.

Breastfeeding sucks. Too funny. Thanks for sharing, though. I did not want to breastfeed but my physiology professor husband convinced me it was best for the babies. At no time, though, did I feel the earth mother magic my nursing friends seemed to feel. It was just something I did for the boys. Cripes, where did those 28 years go?
Great to see an update from you - wow, he is growing already!!! Your poor cats, this must really be quite an adjustment for them too! Voted off the Island - too, too funny!
Oh he is such a cutie! It is a lot of fun when they can interact which won't be to long. He looks very healthy and happy! give him a hug for me. I love those colors of the scarf and it looks so comfy. Your biscornu looks really great. I just got some more dinky dyes in the mail so I can start the back of my biscornu. I may work on that today.

You know, I had to stop breastfeeding my first one at the 6 week mark... Apparently, she never latched on correctly and tore up my nipples. My second took to like he'd doen it before, from the moment they put him in my arms (I guess it was a good thing the gown had fallen down). I nursed him until his first birthday when HE decided he'd had enough of the breast and bottles and wanted cups from then on.
Now the funny part of that was on his 2nd birthday, he tried nursing again. When I told him they were no longer his, he looked at me and asked "They daddy's?".
Good luck on the nursing. I found the book "So That's What They're For" to be a great help.
Oh he is getting SO big! Love the pictures of little Connor! Thanks so much for sharing. Sorry to hear about the cats.. LOL

What an adorable little boy you have.
I breastfed until her first birthday, that was the day she decided she'd rather have a bottle and I was fine with that. The teeth don't really get in the way, the lower ones are covered by the tongue and top ones don't tend to be as sharp for some reason. Just my experience anyway.
