ONE!

Hard to believe that a year has gone by already. I remember with great fondness the anxiety, trepidation and excitement that I posted this message. Wow. I never knew that my life would be so changed. Nothing that I read (and I read voraciously) could have prepared me for the journey that I would embark upon. Motherhood had been challenging, frustrating, scary and totally wonderful. I never would have guessed how much I would love this little guy a year ago. The love I feel grows every day, if that is possible.

I am not sure that I will share so much of BTH in the future. Just for his safety. I want to show him off of course, but I have to draw the line somewhere. Let's take a walk down memory lane one more time...

Shortly after being born:

One month:

Two months:

Three months (with Grama Lauri):

Four months:

Five months:

Six months:

Seven months:

Eight months:

Nine months:

Ten months:

Eleven months:

Twelve months:

I am so grateful that you were able to spend lots of time with Grama Lauri in March and in August & September before she passed away. She loved you so much.

Happy birthday, my baby. You mean the world to me.

Namaste.

That is the cutest little fellow! Tell him happy birthday for me. Thanks for the comment on my blog. Must be nice being so close to the equator. Are you really moving from there to Alaska? Are you crazy? Don't you know it's cold there? brrr..

You brat! Now I'm crying and it's time to leave for work. He just gets cuter and cuter, and he "looks" like a perfect little boy. A real sweetheart with just enough spice to keep him from being boring?

A piece of advice - don't listen to people who tell you the "just you wait..." stories. Yeah, we had wobbles now and then, but we found that parenting our boys just got more and more fun as time went on and as they developed. The greatest experience of our lives.

Sigh.

Oh yeah, NH. Well, I think pollsters underestimated the Northeast element. They are closer to NY and get more northern news, which may mean they know some of Clinton's work that we don't hear about. I also don't think anyone should underestimate the choking up episode that made the news. A big complaint I hear about Clinton is how "icey" she seems, so that scene broke the ice for a lot of people. And one of the reasons DH supports her is that he wants to keep Bill in the picture.

Re: endorsements. I'm fascinated that Barack got the Culinary Union in Nevada (think Las Vegas to understand how huge that is) when Bill Clinton had been strong union. She's just way too conservative for me and maybe for the unions, too. Richardson dropped out yesterday and I'm interested to see who he falls in behind.

Happy Birthday to Connor! I hope he has (actually, I think it's "had" by now) a ONE-derful day!

Love the month-by-month photos of him. I did that with The Tot in her baby book...it's fun to see how they change each month. I'll do that with The Baby too, I just need to collect all the pictures. She's a victim of the "Subsequent Child Phenomenon"...LOL

BTW, I *love* that "Hello My Name is Trouble" nametag-style t-shirt he's wearing in the 12-month picture. I need one of those for both my girls! :-)

Happy Belated Birthday cute fellow!
Your first year went by fast, but tell your momma the years really fly by and to keep taking tons of photos and videos of you.
I'm glad your mom knew him.
